When Thomas Fraser died in 1978 he was remembered only as a shy fisherman crofter. Thirty years later he has been hailed as the most important figure in the history of British Country Music, he's just had his fourth CD released and he's been honoured in Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame. No mean achievement for a man who never even played live in Shetland's capital Lerwick. Filmed entirely in Shetland this programme tells Thomas's unlikely story with drama reconstructions and interviews with friends, family and admirers.  There's also stunning newly found archive of Shetland in the 1950s and 60s.
