Papa Haydn

This highly acclaimed programme commemorates 200 years after Joseph Haydn's death. Elin Manahan Thomas traces the story of The Creation's Welsh premiere in St Mary's Church, Swansea, Wales and visits the Burg Theatre, Vienna, where it was first performed. Exclusive to "Papa Haydn" is the television premier of performances of 3 Welsh Folk songs arranged by Haydn, sung by Elin in world class concert venue Haydn Hall in Esterhazy Palace and accompanied by Haydn Trio Eisenstadt. Other performances include Heavens are Telling, Achieved and With Verdure Clad with Elin, Swansea Bach Choir, Glamorgan Ensemble and conducted by John Hugh Thomas.
