Off Kilter is, among other things, Jonathan Meades' attempt to recapture the sensations of foreignness and strangeness he experienced when he first visited Scotland. The three films are thematically and topographically disparate. They scrutinise Aberdeen's several forms of urbanism; the sublimity of the Isle of Rust (aka Lewis and Harris); the post-industrial desolation of south west Fife.
