Alison Millar graduated from National Film & Television School Beaconsfield in the early 90's before going on to make observational documentaries for many of the UK's best known broadcasters and independent companies. She has been BAFTA nominated and has won a string of prestigious awards all over the world for her documentaries including the Prix Italia (Best documentary in Europe), Boston Irish Film festival, the Celtic Media Festival first-time director award and an Irish film and Television Academy Award.
From her award-winning documentary At Home with the Clearys', which was largely based on self-shot footage taken when she was a film student, to the hard hitting topics she has been working on recently, Alison discusses everything from how to get started to how to cope with sensitive and controversial subject matter.
