The Rolling Wave

Pecker Dunne (1933 – 2012) is a name familiar to many in Ireland though his life story is not so well known. He was a traveller, singer, songwriter and entertainer who played fiddle, guitar, banjo and lived by his music on stage and on the street. In 1997 RTÉ presenter/producer Peter Browne recorded his music and an interview in Duagh, Co Kerry. This programme was made from that material - Pecker’s rich, deep voice describing the happenings of his life from his earliest days showing him to be a sensitive, articulate, humourous, intelligent man with a clearly developed philosophy of life.
