Radio nan Gàidheal

BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, is the only national Gaelic language radio service in the country and aims to serve the entire Gaelic language community. This community is a microcosm of the audience served by the BBC’s other national radio services. They range from pre-school to the elderly and their interests are as diverse as those of any other group. Because it is unique the service targets a wide range of audiences and incorporates all genres of programming - news, current affairs, children’s, factual, arts, comedy, education, learning and entertainment with occasional drama when resources permit. Listeners are spread across Scotland and ‘live’ streaming on the internet extends the service to Gaelic speakers and learners worldwide. The service is widely acknowledged as an important forum for Gaels to access information, be entertained and to debate issues of local, national and international importance from their own perspective daily.
