John ac Alun

John and Alun, a veteran country duo of 27 years, have presented this show on Sunday night for 18yrs. The show pulls in 15,000 listeners, a 50% share of the Welsh speaking Sunday night audience. An example of the close relationship with their fans is reflected in a recent programme when blind Welsh Country singer, Brenda Edwards, called to say that her guide dog had died. The show was inundated with callers expressing their sympathy. Regular listeners include the night shift at Penrhyn Quarry - the largest slate quarry in the world - taxi drivers, care-homes and lifeboat crews.
