A-vihanig

Some parents in Brittany raise their children in Breton. Nevertheless, for a lot of them Breton is not their mother tongue. They learned it when they were already adults. “A-vihanig” is a 26 minutes documentary showing the life of three families. They explain the choice they made and the difficulties they go through using a language they do not completely master sometimes. There was no staging, we filmed their life on the fly. The director wanted to see how the children acquire Breton and in which situations the characters tend to speak Breton or French, the official and most spoken language.
