A Different Place
In 2017 Bill Mitchell, the artistic director of the internationally renown theatre company WildWorks, died of cancer. His partner Sue invited me into Bill's attic a few months after his death to capture something of this remarkable creative space. It is a place of play or construction and of juxtaposition. It is the place where the WildWorks productions began - often with a sketch, a chance meeting of ideas or the intersection of objects and ideas. The attic is a treasure trove of creative endeavour built up over a lifetime of engagement with art practice and storytelling. This film scratches the surface.
