Homeless by the Sea

Large numbers of rough sleepers can be found in Cornwall’s coastal resorts but what is it like to have to bed down on the street at night? BBC Radio Cornwall reporter Hannah Stacey recorded five stories of how easy it was to fall into homelessness. Brian refers to himself as the “homeless Jeremy Kyle”. Alison slept in a tent in the sand dunes at a Cornish beauty spot. John slept in the back of a van. And friends Tony and Terry described how tough it is to cope with the cold while more affluent members of society pass you by.
