Six Men
In a two-part series, Gary Innes, former Scotland international shinty captain, musician and radio presenter explores the issue of male suicide. It’s a personal issue for Gary who, over the course of two decades, saw six of his Fort William team-mates die by suicide. In ‘Six Men’, he speaks to family and friends of the players along with medical experts, discussing trends and warning signs. He hears about some of the positive projects set up around the Highlands to address the issue and takes inspiration from Shetland where a variety of measures have drastically reduced their suicide rate.
