Máis Ca Vida

This documentary is a realistic and natural approach to the details of a two and a half year´s teamwork with intellectual disabled people who went through a whole process of rehearsals, character creation, improvisation and memorization techniques combined with their feelings, sensations and daily problems. These experiences will later become an essential part of the materials to the creation of the short film Vida (Life). The documentary collects the crucial moments actors had to face in the shooting that show their testimonies, feelings and reflections. Always with an entirely positive, healthy and funny narrative and approach, the documentary recalls several experiences that were decisive to develop the script of a short film which will show naturally the daily world around us. The two projects stand alone by themselves but the documentary and the short film are closely linked offering an innovative format that will transport the viewer into a world of emotions. This formula allows us to discover the tremendous talent and potential of this group of people and proves how fiction and reality go hand in hand as part of the same thing: life. More than life meant the beginning of a new and innovative method of social inclusion created by Ruben Riós to empower and help disabled people to find their own means of life.
