Os Castros
Pre-Roman Hillforts This historical series, directed by Galician journalist Xosé Manuel Vega, and conducted by Alba Mancebo, will show in a very entertaining way, how life was in those round fortified settlements on the top of the Galician hills. Viewers will learn about their architecture, the political and social organization, what they lived on, which were their beliefs and mentality, and which was their artistic legacy. We will discover a wide variety of objects and jewels of the age that are now guarded in our museums. To better understand all this information, the programme will count with experts´ voices: experienced professors and specialized archaeologists highly qualified in this area of knowledge. In the first episode of the series, we will learn from a scientific perspective how we should approach and interpret the first pre-Roman hillforts. But in order to correctly understand what this military culture meant for us it is important to outline in the first instance how Galicia was before the appearance of these settlements.
