Our Summer: The Story Of Wales At Euro 2016

It took 58 years for the Welsh national football team to qualify for a major tournament and when they eventually made it, the supporters were going to enjoy every last moment. Writer and Producer Steffan Garrero takes us on a journey into the heart of a symbiotic relationship between the players and the fans. A bond which only 3 generations of disappointments can build. We hear from the players who took Wales from plucky "also rans" to within 90 minutes of the final of Euro 2016. The stories of those involved in the field are intertwined with tales from the Welsh fans as they spent a dream summer travelling around France. Gotham star Erin Richards narrates while the soundtrack is provided by James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers) and Gavin Fitzjohn.

This documentary was broadcast on two networks across the BBC - Radio Wales and Five Live. It was made for a Welsh audience but it's themes give it appeal to a British and wider audience. If you enjoy sport and have experienced the pain of your team failing on a regular basis, this programme may convince you that one day your luck will change, just like it did for Wales.
