CELTIC MEDIA FESTIVAL
7 - 9 SEPTEMBER
In 1946, in an act of defiance against the local clergy, a group of men in Listowel, Co. Kerry in the South West of Ireland force open the locked gates of the Parish Catholic Church. What was it that drove them to do this? In a story that traces the devastating impact that Church and State have had on three generations of one family – we piece together what happened before and since those Church gates were rammed open in 1946 – the actions of which persist right up to the present day.
