Choose Life: Edinburgh's Battle Against AIDS

In the 1980s Edinburgh was dubbed as the ‘AIDS capital of Europe’ and on the frontline as a terrifying new disease arrived. In this landmark documentary we examine the ten-year period between 1979 and 1989 meeting those doctors, heroin addicts, police and locals caught up in events they could barely understand. This film reveals how events thousands of miles away at the beginning of the 1980s had a massive impact on the Capital and the rest of Scotland.
