Samhlú 2020
Set on a little street, on the edge of the world, Samhlú 2020 celebrates a year like no other, in a bold and unprecedented way. The lead role preformed by well known actor and comedian Tommy Tiernan, a bringer of light and storyteller, with performance and music by Julia Feeney, Bill Whelan, Rónan Ó Snodaigh, and dance from Catherine Young Dance Company this magical setting erupts into performances from every art-form, where doorsteps, piers and chipper vans become stages. "The wanderer" roams, from house to house, performance to performance, linking all the artforms, from music, to dance, to theatre, to film, to visual arts. Samhlú collides cultures and traditions into a celebration of togetherness inspired by the artistic ventures of 2020 during a time of lockdowns. Winner of "Prix Circom" X 2 awards 2020.
