Coinneach Mac a' Ghobhainn
Coinneach Mac a’ Ghobhainn is a Leòdhasach (Lewis man) to his core with a passion for broadcasting and the Gaelic language, literature and culture. Coinneach joined the BBC fresh out of the University of Glasgow in 2012, and has since worked across children’s programming, music, news, features and topical programming. An accomplished broadcaster, versatile and capable in every situation, he’ll ask all the questions you want answered, with warmth and ease across a breadth of topics for Radio nan Gàidheal’s listeners. Coinneach is our Friday morning presenter for Naoi gu Deich, and as a producer also contributes feature inserts for the programme through the rest of the week. Beyond Naoi gu Deich he also researches, produces, and presents other programmes in the schedule on an ad-hoc basis - from history programmes to folklore and an end of year quiz. When he isn’t behind a microphone, he’ll be on the croft, attending to livestock, mending fences, getting the quad unstuck, or teaching his children how to dose sheep.
