Dying Breed
Filmed over one year on three small cattle farms in remote west Cornwall, DYING BREED presents an intimate, no holds barred portrait of a disappearing way of life. Poignant, sometimes tragic stories are mixed with a visceral depiction of all aspects of husbandry, from a difficult birth through to inevitable death at the slaughterhouse. 100,000 small farms have disappeared from the UK in the last ten years, forced out of business by the might of retail giants. These three farms are clinging on, their ageing owners fuelled by a mixture of stoicism and dry Cornish wit.
