Blas Ceoil
Blas Ceoil is a weekly bi-lingual contemporary folk music programme.This programme was broadcast live from the foyer of the Millennium Forum in Derry from the first Derry International music festival, ahead of the Transatlantic Sessions concert. Donald Shaw, Karen Matheson, John Doyle, John McCusker and Michael McGoldrick performed on the show and ran backstage straight afterwards! The vibrant traditional music scene of Derry was also showcased on the programme with particular emphasis on the university undergraduates, 4 of whom performed on the programme. In all, 23 people appeared on this hour long outside broadcast.
