Lost Letters

For generations being a pen pal was how Scots reached out to the world. Now you can connect with anyone anywhere, but in the days before the internet having a pen pal was one of the few ways to discover new worlds, people and friendships. Journalist and broadcaster Paul English tracks down his former pen pals, and considers whether, in the digital age, we have lost the art of letter writing. Meeting a few of his former pen-friends, some for the very first time, was a personal and emotional journey for Paul and truly resonated with the Radio Scotland audience.
