Captain Jack’s War
In the week when those who served in times of war are remembered, a grand-daughter embarks on a journey to discover how her two grandfathers came close to death. With the help of her brother and a friend she explores what war and the lives of long-dead relatives mean to us today. Beautifully and sparingly told, weaving together thoughts, locations and her grandfather’s words, it creates a space for listeners to reflect on their own connections with the past. It’s a lyrical evocation of memory, family and a longing for the past and the people who came before us.
