Les Miserables: Y Daith i'r Llwyfan

The first programme in a three part series following the staging of a brand new Welsh language youth production of Les Miserables at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. Rondo filmed the whole process – from the very first auditions through to the performance itself. The company worked with the centre and with Sir Cameron Mackintosh and his team to ensure that the S4C series captured the whole experience, with Rondo Media producing an entertaining and popular series (broadcast on S4C over the 2015 Christmas period). This first programme concentrates on the auditions – introducing the project and seeing how and why the successful performers were selected for the roles of Jean Valjean, Eponine, Fantine, Thenadier and the other principal characters. Rondo’s cameras were also there to film the successful candidates receiving the good news – a highly emotional moment in the programme. This programme won an award for the best entertainment programme at the 2016 Bafta Cymru awards.
