RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta Radio Station of the Year 2016 – Supporting Statement RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta is a public service radio station, part of the national broadcaster, providing a complete radio service to Gaeltacht and Irish language communities throughout the country and the world. We provide a national platform to these communities to debate and discuss issues that are of core importance to them, and by extension, to the survival of the Irish language. Great efforts have been made to create opportunities for debate and discussion, to have fun and be energetic, facilitate listeners from a rural and urban background and tell their stories. Our schedule aims to achieve a balance between the local, national and international when covering news, sport, music and human-interest stories for all ages. Over the last year, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta has covered subjects of particular interest to our audience, national events as well as events in the international arena.
