Côr Cymru 2017 – Corau Ieuenctid
Côr Cymru is S4C’s bi-annual choral competition drawing the very best choirs from all over Wales to showcase their talents in front of a panel of renowned international judges in 5 different categories – Youth, Male Voice, Female, Children’s and Mixed choirs. This episode was the Youth Choirs Round presented by Morgan Jones and Heledd Cynwal, with contributions from the unofficial judge Elin Manahan Thomas. In addition to the carefully crafted coverage of the choir’s performances, each piece was given a specific lighting and staging design. The programme also features VT profiles of each choir, post-performance responses and the all-important result to find out who will make it through to the prestigious Live Final. As well as receiving the honour of being crowned the Choir of Wales, this year’s winners would receive an invitation to appear in the brand-new Eurovision Choir of the Year competition in Riga, Latvia, so the stakes have never been higher!
