Foyle Sportsound - Life without a Leader
The death of Derry City Football Club captain Ryan McBride, at the age of just 27, rocked not only the world of football, but also the North-West public. He was a very recognisable character due to his performances in the candy striped jersey, but outside of the public eye, he was a well respected and quiet man. Our listeners were deeply shocked and saddened by his loss. As Derry City F.C took to the pitch for their first game after his death, Radio Foyle’s Sportsound wanted to reflect the mood sensitively, as presenter Dessie McCallion says “On a night of high emotion”
