Y Blew

A celebration of the first Welsh Language pop/rock group on their 50th anniversary in July 1967. With a combination of group and fan interviews, as well as re-creations of the band's sound, the programme conveys the tensions of the musical 'old order' in Wales, combined with the enthusiasm and hope of the 1960's youth, attempting to create contemporary Welsh music. This is combined with excerpts from the band's founder member, Dafydd Evans's vivid diary of the trials, and joy of five young men on a mission - to wake up the Welsh Language music scene. They remain icons today.
