A Half Century of the Hennessys

The Hennessys are one of Wales’ most enduring folk groups. Frank Hennessy first met Dave Burns and Paul Powell at the Central Boys Club in Cardiff 50 years ago. With their shared Irish roots they formed a band and went on to entertain audiences all over the world. The Hennessys look back at some of the highlights of the last 50 years – like singing for the Pope and forming the Kairdiff Language Society – and recall some of their stranger moments, from living in a tent in their agent’s back garden to giving an impromptu concert for 40 nuns.
