Reds na hÉireann
Reds na hÉireann is a documentary about communism in Ireland until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Without a solid industrial history, the pressure-valve of American migration, and a powerful rightward looking clergy, communism was always going to be a tough sell in Ireland. Nevertheless once we look inside the environment of left-wing politics and activism in Ireland, we see a world open up full of colour, emotion and conflict which tells us a story of Ireland's place in the global political landscape in the late 20th Century.
