An Alc'hwez Aour

In her famous poem An Alc’hwez Aour, Anjela Duval talks about  a golden key dropped at the bottom of the sea. A new generation must find it and bring it to open the door of a tower in which  a treasure is hidden. This treasure will give them back their culture and identity. This  metaphor refers to the story of the Breton language over the last 50 years which   is told in this documentary. The Breton People's attitude to their language has evolved over this period influenced by a long struggle for Breton to be better recognized in all public spheres. Using archive material, the viewpoint of sociologists and historians and interviews of various activists this documentary  tells the story of these struggles to try to reverse the destiny of the language.
