Y Gerddorfa – Dathlu Sain yn 50
The programme celebrated the invaluable contribution of independent record label Sain on its 50th birthday with a concert by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales with folk musician Gwilym Bowen Rhys, musical star Mared Williams and Band Pres Llareggub – Wales’ New Orleans inspired brass ensemble! Presented by Aled Hughes and Lisa Gwilym live from Pontio, Bangor, the music captured Sain’s unique contribution to the Welsh musical landscape, from the moving melody of Môr o Gariad to the raucous and rousing finale Safwn Yn Y Bwlch. The evening was a fitting tribute to the music released by the iconic label.
