Bill Douglas: My Best Friend

In Bill Douglas's short career he made four films: most famously, an autobiographical trilogy about his appalling childhood: My Childhood, My Ain Folk and The Way Home. Every shot in these films is an art work and every sequence a poem. Bill's life was turned around when he met the man who would become his lifelong friend, Peter Jewell. This is their story, told with the 8mm films they made together – after Bill’s hard childhood and before he made the films about it.
