Buchedd Greta: Gwinllan Wyllt
Buchedd Garmon by Saunders Lewis was the first ever Welsh language audio play to be commissioned by the BBC and transmitted on St Davids Day 1937. In 2022, to coincide with BBC100, Radio Cymru commissioned Seiriol Davies and Hanna Jarman to create a new exciting audio piece and revisit some of the themes of the original play but from the perspective of the blind child who is ‘saved’. In Buchedd Greta we ask what if that child was very happy with her life and did not want to be ‘saved’? A funny, original, ambitious, musical twist on well-known Welsh story.
