Lios Mhairi
Mairi’s back at work in her island garden, embracing the joys and challenges of growing in the Hebrides and learning from other passionate growers along the way. It’s Mairi Gillies’s second year in her garden on the island of Lewis. Last year, we saw her start to develop the garden, a large space surrounding her new home in need of some TLC. Although Mairi is an experienced horticulturalist, gardening on a Hebridean island with its unique weather challenges was a new experience for her. She has a llmited budget, and aims to keep her carbon footprint as low as possible.
