Frank Hennessy
Back to winnersBorn and raised in Cardiff, Frank‘s
family origins are in Ring in County Waterford.
He is a successful songwriter, with songs
such as "Farewell to the Rhondda" accepted as folk standards throughout
Europe and America.
Frank started presenting for BBC Radio
Wales in 1984 and has been a regular ever since. He produces and presents
the folk-roots programme "Celtic Heartbeat", and co-presents "I'll
Show You Mine". Frank made broadcasting history by transmitting the
first ever live radio programme from the Smithsonian Festival in July
as part of a simulcast for BBC Radio Wales and Radio WAMU Washington.
